Police in Caernarfon have identified fourteen youths who have been damaging vehicles by throwing items.

In one instance, a baby in a pushchair was hit by an item, although they were not injured.

Neighbourhood officers say they plan to speak the parents of the suspects, some of whom are as young as 9 years old.

They've also warned further action could follow if anti-social behaviour in the area continues to escalate.

PC Jordan Jones from the Neighbourhood Policing Team in North Gwynedd, said: “The recent behaviour in Caernarfon is having a serious impact on residents and is putting community members at risk."

“Luckily, the baby did not sustain any injuries, but this could have been a different story."

“We have so far identified 14 young people between the ages of 9-15 years old who we suspect are involved and officers will be visiting their homes to speak with their families and share information with partner agencies."

“Criminalising young people is a last resort but if incidents continue to escalate, we will need to take formal action."

“I would urge parents and carers to support us by speaking to your children about where they are going in the evenings and the consequences that anti-social behaviour can have on the lives of those around them."

“I would appeal to anyone with information or footage of any anti-social behaviour on the A4085 near Segontium specifically, to contact us.”

Anyone with information about anti-social behaviour in and around Caernarfon should contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
