A yachtsman was rescued after he slipped and fell overboard in Beaumaris Bay,

The sole crewman was seen struggling in the water after he tried to board the yacht from a tender at around 5.50pm on Friday evening.

Coastguards from Penmon and Bangor were sent to the scene while the RNLI at Beaumaris launched its inshore lifeboat.

The casualty, who was wearing a lifejacket at the time, was rescued by the lifeboat and taken back to the nearby station, where he was checked over.

After being given safety advice by coastguards, the yachtsman and the tender both returned to Gallows Point.

A RNLI Beaumaris spokesperson said: "Our collaboration with the Coastguard ensures that we can respond swiftly and effectively. By working together, we can pool our expertise and resources, ultimately providing the best possible care and support to those in need."
