A pensioner has died following a two-vehicle crash near Gardolbenmaen last month.

An 85 year-old man was being driven in a red Honda Jazz when it collided with a red Vauxhall Insignia on the A487 turning onto the B4411 from Glandwyfach.

It happened at around 2.30pm on Sunday 22nd September.

The pensioner was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where he died on October 3rd.

One person, a passenger in the Insignia, was taken to Ysbyty Alltwen in Porthmadog with minor injuries.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at North Wales Police said: "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this time."

“An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the collision, and we are appealing to anybody who may have been travelling along that stretch of road at around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact North Wales Police on 101 or via the live web chat, quoting reference number 24000815325.
