A 33 year-old man who went missing from Bangor has been found dead.

Rowan's body was discovered in Trearddur Bay last Saturday, nearly a week after he was last seen alive.

His car had been found near the South Stack lighthouse on Monday 2nd December, leading to searches being carried out around the Holyhead area.

North Wales Police say there are thought to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The local coroner has been informed and an inquest is expected to be held in due course.

In a statement via police, Rowan's father said: "Thank you to the police, coastguard and RNLI and all others who were helping to find Rowan."

"The family are very grateful for all the efforts made and for people who came out in their own time to help."

"Thank you to the police and coroner’s office for their continued support and consideration to the family. Thank you all."

A spokesperson for North Wales Police added: "Our deepest condolences remain with Rowan’s family and friends, who have requested their privacy to be respected at this difficult time."
