A lifeboat crew was called out after a jet ski ran aground on a sandbank in the Menai Strait.
Two people were on board the craft when it became stranded on the Lavan sands between Llanfairfechan and Beaumaris on Friday evening.
The RNLI at Beaumaris sent out its inshore Atlantic 85 lifeboat, the Annette Mary Liddington, at around 7.35pm.
But when they arrived at the scene and one of the crew went onto the sandbar, they found it was not possible to refloat the jet ski until the next incoming tide.
Both occupants had the correct equipment - including water to drink - and amid the suitable weather, they decide to wait until the incoming tide in a few hours.
The coastguard kept in contact with the pair until they re-floated the craft and made it back to shore.
An RNLI spokesperson at Beaumaris said: "The ‘informant ashore did the correct thing in alerting the coastguard to the situation. This meant our volunteer lifeboat crew were able to reach the casualty quickly, assess the situation and discuss the options available to the crew of the craft’."
