An independent candidate has won back his seat on Anglesey Council in a by-election.
Ken Hughes lost his seat in the Talybolion ward at the last local elections two years ago.
He defeated Plaid Cymru rival Dafydd Williams by 160 votes in Thursday's poll, which was triggered by former leader Llinos Medi's election as Ynys Môn MP in July.
Mr Hughes is the eleventh independent member of the county council.
The full result of the Talybolion by-election was:
- Kenneth Hughes (Independent): 678
- Dafydd Williams (Plaid Cymru): 518
- David Evans (Welsh Conservative): 72
- Tomos Barlow (Welsh Green Party): 46
The turnout was 31.9%
Plaid Cymru retains overall control of the council with 20 seats, while Labour have three seats and the Liberal Democrats have one.
