A Holyhead man who assaulted and threatened to kill two female police officers has been jailed.
Mold Crown Court heard Brian Owens (34) lashed out at one officer and strangled another when they were called to deal with a reported assault on Turkey Shore Road in February.
Owens grabbed one officer by the hair and pulled out a clamp before striking her in the face, and then, placed his hands around another officer's neck.
Despite a sustained and violent assault, the officers managed to arrest and detain him.
Owens went onto plead guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, two counts of threats to kill, assault and breaching a criminal behaviour order.
He was sentenced to a year and ten months in prison.
Following sentencing, District Inspector Wayne Francis of North Wales Police said: “Owens is a prolific offender who was already subject of a criminal behaviour order before the incident."
“We will not tolerate any assault against an emergency service worker whilst trying to do their jobs to keep others safe."
“I would urge members of the public to call out violence towards any emergency worker, who attend work every day to face danger to help and protect you.”
