24 people have been arrested in a major crackdown on serious and organised crime in Bangor over the past month.
Six police officers and a sergeant have been stepping up patrols around the city since the beginning of March as part of Renew Bangor.
Their efforts have been focused on increasing visability in the High Street, Hirael and Maesgeirchen areas as well as carrying out several drugs raids.
North Wales Police say 56 proactive stop searches have led to 28 positive results for suspected class A, B and C drugs and stolen property.
The arrests have been for a variety of offences including drug supply, drug dealing, violence, money laundering, theft and being wanted on warrant.
Superintendent Arwel Hughes said: “I’m grateful for the initial support that we have received from residents and partner agencies following the launch of Renew Bangor, and hope that we can continue to work together to improve the image of the high street in the coming weeks.
“We will continue to conduct high visibility patrols, and I encourage community members to speak to officers about any concerns they have about drugs or anti-social behaviour.
“My ultimate aim is to make the city feel like a safe place to live, work and visit, resulting in Bangor High Street being an attractive place for new businesses to trade.”
